DAY 13---AT SEA ENROUTE TO MIAMI (Thursday, December 7th)

 SAILING FROM BERMUDA

This tug showed up an hour before we departed the pier.  We shoved off at 3:00pm.
Instead of heading straight south we sailed all the way around the island and down the east side.  Here is a resort.  So far the sea was not rough as not on the windward side and protected by the land.

LAST EVENING

Joie made me a couple martinis while we sat at the bar in Observation Lounge.
Dan and Jane Hoefflin whom we enjoyed dinner with a couple nights before and I neglected to get their photo then.
We enjoyed dinner in Compass Rose and shared this oven baked truffle meatballs for an appetizer.
Next we each had an iceberg wedge with bacon dressing with sweet corn and scallions.  Too big!
We both had the roasted turkey.  Huge portion of turkey.  I asked for extra stuffing and mashed potatoes.  Gravy on the side.
                                                       Margarita served our chardonnay.
Alteo was our head waiter tonight.
Molten lava chocolate cake with ice cream for my dessert.
We were waiting for the doors to open for the show.  Got our usual seats close to the stage.
Jesse's show was incredible.  We believe it was the best show we have ever seen on any ship.  Great voice and song selections.

TODAY

Just as the Captain had said before departing Bermuda it got VERY, VERY bumpy during the night and today.  Waves were crashing against the hull all night long.  I'm estimating the waves were 15 feet high.  At least the worse started after the show while we were in bed.  This is the roughest sea we have experienced since our 2010 world cruise when crossing the Pacific Ocean.
Waves this morning still probably 10 feet and the ship is moving about making it difficult to walk.  Hopefully conditions will improve later on this afternoon as the Captain predicted.  Once again today the TV is out but internet still good.
For lunch in La Veranda I had some fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, and beef stir fry in a oyster sauce.
Of course, a slice of seafood pizza, some anchovies, and some blue cheese.
I took this selfie as sitting at the table behind us was Shania Twain.  She is a little thing and always wears a ball cap.  If you click on this photo you can blow it up to see her better.

The ship has been holding our passports during the cruise but gave them back today.  Even though we are staying on for the 4 day christening cruise we will have to clear Immigrations upon arrival in Miami on Saturday morning.
                                                          Our position at noon today.
The ocean is very slowly improving this afternoon.  Our Captain said it should be much better by evening.  Hope so as we are waiting until later to take our showers.  Got Fox News back this afternoon.
This evening is the Captain's Farewell.  The evening kicks off at 6pm with Krew Kapers.  This is a show unique to Regent's ships where the crew puts on a show for us.  It is always very good as there will be singing and dancing.
We will be joined for dinner in Compass Rose by Roberto Paterno.  Roberto is the Corporate Restaurant Manager.  He spends 6 months on ships, 5 months at corporate offices, and 1 month off.  He has been on Grandeur even before it sailed with any guests making sure everything was ready to go.
After dinner is Linda Gentille's second show.  We will be setting our clocks back for the last time tonight as we will be on Eastern time for our arrival in Miami on Saturday.
